The Second Arrival of Jesus. How Long Would That Be?

This article is dedicated to Mr. Hor Meng Yew.

A friend of mine by the name Hor Meng Yew in our “Golden Tiger” Whatsapp chat sent us this message:

"So, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him" (Matthew 24:44). Jesus clearly indicates that none of us knows either the moment He'll return and establish His kingdom forever or when He may summon us to leave this world and come to Him. But He tells us to be prepared and "keep watch" (Matthew 24:42).

Tic . . . tic . . . The "clockwork" of our lives is still in motion - but for how long? May we live our moments in love with our merciful Saviour, waiting and working for Him”

.............................................................................................................................................................

The above question / message Mr. Hor Meng Yew sent to us gave me the idea when will Jesus be coming again considering the horrendous numbers of worlds in heavens He may be there, and how long would Jesus take to arrive to this world once again as foretold in the Bible.

Let’s have a look

How many galaxies, stars and other worlds would there be in the all the heavens we call this as the Universe?

A typical galaxy like our Milky Way Galaxy contains at least between 100–400 billion stars

Most of the galaxies are 1,000 to 100,000 parsecs in diameter (approximately 3,000 to 300,000 light years) are separated by distances on the order of millions of parsecs (or megaparsecs).

For comparison, the Milky Way has a diameter of at least 30,000 parsecs (100,000 light years) and is separated from the Andromeda Galaxy (with diameter of about 220,000 light years), its nearest large neighbour, by 780,000 parsecs (2.5 million light years)

If we assume each star system has between 1000 planets including planetoids like Pluto, Iris, Ceres, Juno, Vesta, Astraea, Hebe, Flora, Hygiea, Urania, Pomona, Atalante, Fides… etc, etc.

Let us be very conversative to take over 120 (Runyon et al) only within our Solar System, and let us assume this is the number we are going to take to represent all other stellar systems within the Milky Way, that conservative numbers put us at least between 1.2 x 10 13 (12 trillion) to 4.8 x 10 13 (48 trillion) planets and planetoids or worlds in our Milky Way Galaxy alone

According to data in 2020 from NASA, it was estimated there may be at least 2 x 10^12 (2 trillion) galaxies in the observable Universe. Each galaxy is unique, ranging in size from 10,000 light-years to hundreds of light-years.

Translated, this means there may be between 2.4 X 10 25 – 9.6 x 10 25 (24 trillion, trillion to 96 trillion, trillion) other planets, planetoids or worlds out there in heavens within the Observable Universe, spread out across an expanding 93 billion light years or 8.84 x 10 23 km (884,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or 884 billion trillion) km across like a curtain being spread across (Psalm 104:2, Isaiah 40:22, 42:5, 45:12).

(1 light year = 9.5 trillion km)

These numbers are far, far more than all the sands on the all the beaches and deserts on this world

See article on:

The Stars of Heavens vs. Sands on Earth here:

Also,

Hence, based on sheer numbers of worlds up there and their awesome distances from here and from each other, how do we expect us to know in which world Jesus is now living, and when or how long would Jesus  take to come here again ?

But if Jesus is no longer in physical or material form as He was in human physical form over 2,000 years ago, but through spiritual transfiguration, we can expect Him violating Einstein's law that nothing with a mass can travel faster than light since He came from another world different from ours: “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36).

If Jesus belongs to another world, how long would He need take to arrive here again?

In order to answer that, let's see how fast a soul or a spiritual being without any mass can travel?

“Does A Human Soul Travel Faster than the Speed of Light?

https://scientificlogic.blogspot.com/2021/10/article-was-originally-meant-for-our_59.html

By sheer numbers of the worlds, and their horrendous distances from each other, it is my belief it would not be necessary that all our scientific laws as we know them here on Earth must apply in other worlds too as other scientists think. I beg to differ from other scientists.

Her'e's one view in New Scientist that supports mine too:

https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn19429-laws-of-physics-may-change-across-the-universe/

Jesus has clearly shown how He defiled and by-passed all the laws in biology, chemistry, physics and other sciences including  medicine we know in our world when He performed all those horrendously awesome miracles including raising up the dead. He has demonstrated them, and I don’t think we should assume all our scientific laws are fixed and they should also apply to all the estimated 24 to 96 trillion, trillion other worlds too?

This means God could travel instantly, and could be present everywhere at a blink of an eye at any time, and that He is ubiquitous even if we shut our bedroom and pray quietly inside as He is already there

 (Matthew 6:6)

Likewise, Jesus could arrive at anytime, His presence ubiquitously everywhere even now in our amidst, and nobody knows where and when depending on our needs

A Natural Protein to Control High Blood Pressure and Diabetes

A Protein Expressed by Our Body that may be able to Control High Blood Pressure and Diabetes?

Here’s an article below I received on 21 February, 2022 from a friend of mine Professor Dr Andrew Charles Gomez who is a Senior Head and Neck Surgeon through our Whatsapp Chat group.

……………………

Long-Standing Enigma Finally Cracked – Link Discovered Between High Blood Pressure and Diabetes

By UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL FEBRUARY 21, 2022

The long-standing enigma of why so many patients suffering with high blood pressure (known as hypertension) also have diabetes (high blood sugar) has finally been cracked by an international team led by the universities of Bristol, UK, and Auckland, New Zealand.

The important new discovery has shown that a small protein cell glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) couples the body’s control of blood sugar and blood pressure.

Professor Julian Paton, a senior author, and Director of Manaaki Manawa – The Centre for Heart Research at the University of Auckland, said: “We’ve known for a long time that hypertension and diabetes are inextricably linked and have finally discovered the reason, which will now inform new treatment strategies.”

The research, published online ahead of print in Circulation Research on February 1, 2022, involved contributions from collaborating scientists in Brazil, Germany, Lithuania, and Serbia, as well as the UK and New Zealand.

GLP-1 is released from the wall of the gut after eating and acts to stimulate insulin from the pancreas to control blood sugar levels. This was known but what has now been unearthed is that GLP-1 also stimulates a small sensory organ called the carotid body located in the neck.

The University of Bristol group used an unbiased, high-throughput genomics technique called RNA sequencing to read all the messages of the expressed genes in the carotid body in rats with and without high blood pressure. This led to the finding that the receptor that senses GLP-1 is located in the carotid body, but less so in hypertensive rats.

David Murphy, Professor of Experimental Medicine from Bristol Medical School: Translational Health Sciences (THS) and senior author, explained: “Locating the link required genetic profiling and multiple steps of validation.  We never expected to see GLP-1 come up on the radar, so this is very exciting and opens many new opportunities.”

Professor Paton added: “The carotid body is the convergent point where GLP-1 acts to control both blood sugar and blood pressure simultaneously; this is coordinated by the nervous system which is instructed by the carotid body.”

People with hypertension and/or diabetes are at high risk of life-threatening cardiovascular disease.  Even when receiving medication, a large number of patients will remain at high risk. This is because most medications only treat symptoms and not causes of high blood pressure and high sugar.

Professor Rod Jackson, world-renowned epidemiologist from the University of Auckland, said “We’ve known that blood pressure is notoriously difficult to control in patients with high blood sugar, so these findings are really important because by giving GLP-1 we might be able to reduce both sugar and pressure together, and these two factors are major contributors to cardiovascular risk.”

Mr. Audrys Pauza, a British Heart Foundation-funded PhD student in Professor David Murphy’s lab in the Bristol Medical School and lead author on the study, added: “The prevalence of diabetes and hypertension is increasing throughout the world, and there is an urgent need to address this.

“Drugs targeting the GLP-1 receptor are already approved for use in humans and widely used to treat diabetes. Besides helping to lower blood sugar these drugs also reduce blood pressure, however, the mechanism of this effect wasn’t well understood.

“This research revealed that these drugs may actually work on the carotid bodies to enact their anti-hypertensive effect. Leading from this work, we are already planning translational studies in humans to bring this discovery into practice so that patients most at risk can receive the best treatment available.”

But GLP-1 is just the start. The research has revealed many novel targets for ongoing functional studies that the team anticipate will lead to future translational projects in human hypertensive and diabetic patients.

Following the above article, I wrote a comment on the above finding to Professor Andrew which motivated another mechanical engineer friend of mine Mr. Silvanus in the same WhatsApp group to write me a letter asking me this question below:

…………………………………………

Dear Professor Dr Ju Boo Lim

I read with great interest your comment to what Professor Andrew sent to us about this LGP 1 enzyme or whatever that is I have no clue that can control our high blood pressure

May i seek your highly learned medical knowledge if doctors have been wronged all these years giving us the wrong medication with all those high blood pressure and diabetes pills to treat these two diseases when they should have used this body enzymes GLP 1 whatever that is, to naturally treat high blood pressure and diabetes

I await your most learned answer

……………………………………………………

I then replied to Mr. Silvanus this:

Thank you, Mr. Silvanus, for your confidence in me attempting to handle this difficult question of yours

I think it is best i solicit the answer or opinion from other doctors in this chat here instead of me attempting to field your question

That way we can learn from each other and share our knowledge together

But if there is no response from other doctors or medical or scientific expertise only then shall I try to answer within a day or two

You have really confronted me with a very good question though a very difficult challenge

We shall try our best

Lim jb

…………………………………………….

I  waited for two days for other doctors  to reply to Mr. Sivanus. Unfortunately, even though there were quite a number of medical specialists and scientists in the chat group, but none answered

So, I decided to reply to Mr. Silvanus instead of waiting further. Here’s what I think just to share with other readers in this blog

…………………………………………………:

Before I begin my explanation, I would also like Professor Andrew who sent us this article by Professor Julian Paton to comment with some good well-explained details after reading my comment below.

Since no one, especially medical doctors, pharmacologists or molecular biologists have responded to my request on your earlier question for me, whether or not doctors have taken the wrong approach in treating high blood pressure and diabetes using drugs instead of this natural protein from the body itself here are my views.

Our current trend of using antihypertensive agents to treat hypertension, such as the selective use of any of the range and generations of these drugs, starting with diuretics as first- line, onto the use of beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, angiotensin II receptor blockers, alpha blockers, alpha-2 receptor agonists or other blockers we know of, is the best doctors can offer for the present at least as an interim measure especially if the disease is severe and uncontrollable. But we need to look at better ways such as changing the ways we live if they are mild We shall discuss this later.

Neither is it the best doctors can offer to treat maturity onset diabetes using of non-insulin dependent oral antidiabetic drugs such as the more popular biguanides (metformin), or sulfonylureas (glimepiride), meglitinides (repaglinide), dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitors, thiazolidinediones, and alpha-glucosidase inhibitors…etc, etc.

We shall explain why genes can be influenced by environmental factors, and we can slowly wean ourselves from drug dependence if we can modify or prevent these environmental exposures. We shall discuss this further towards the end

In the meantime we have been using these classes of drugs for some time now based on our current understanding on how these medicines work (mode of action or pharmacodynamics) before new discoveries like GLP-1 surfaced to change our ways of thinking in treating these two disorders.

Doctors merely follow standard protocols based on previous knowledge, not new discoveries they are unaware of

The discovery by an international team of scientists that this glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) has been shown to be capable of controlling blood pressure and blood sugar is something new to me even as a research doctor and scientist, and I don’t expect other doctors to know this.

In the absence of new findings until lately, we don’t expect doctors to know new avenues in managing hypertension and diabetes except using drugs.

Neither do we expect drug companies to know this. Even if they do, it is highly unlikely they will be willing to promote a natural protein expressed by the body to be used. Naturally they want them to be drug-based for their multi-billion-dollar profit and patency.

GLP-1 mentioned in the discovery is a gene expression, meaning it is a specific protein expressed by a specific gene, and it is these peptides that influence blood pressure and sugar levels.

Then again, I personally have two questions myself for these international team of esteemed scientists to answer:

Firstly, in what way does this specific protein lowers blood pressure if high? Of course, in general we know the plasma proteins in the blood maintains and stabilize blood pressure through its viscosity, high density and hydrostatic actions, but they don’t lower blood pressure for those who are hypertensive

Secondly, in my understanding in physiology and medicine, Professor Julian Paton, senior author of the study did not tell us the type of carotid bodies in the neck were responsible. She only mentioned carotid bodies

There are actually two types of carotid bodies, namely the baroreceptors (pressure sensors) and the chemoreceptors (chemical receptors). Hence which between the two is responsible for lowering blood pressure, surely not the chemoreceptors?

Before I ask my 3 or 4 other questions for Professor Julian Paton, let me explain what these receptors are for non-doctors in this chat group on baroreceptors and chemical receptors.

Let me explain so that we can carry on answering your question Mr. Silva.

Baroreceptors are alternatively called mechanoreceptors that relay information about blood pressure within the autonomic nervous system. Information is then passed in rapid sequence to alter the total peripheral resistance and cardiac output, maintaining blood pressure within a preset, normalized range.

Just as an example, these baroreceptors are instantly triggered in the event of hypovolemic shock due to say massive bleeding where the blood pressure dips dangerously low

The body then compensates by increasing heart rate and cardiac output. They are abundantly found in the wall of the bifurcation of the internal carotid arteries (carotid sinus) and in the wall of the aortic arch.

The key difference between baroreceptors and chemoreceptors is that baroreceptors are mechanoreceptors responding to blood pressure changes while chemoreceptors are cells sensing the concentration of chemicals in the surrounding extracellular fluid such as pH levels, carbon dioxide, sugar and hormonal levels. Both receptors exert great influences on the autonomic control of the heart and blood vessels to bring about cardiovascular changes and their adjustments

But I am unsure how GLP-1 peptides work on baroreceptors, a question we need Prof Julian to answer

We may be able to offer some theories on how they being a protein is able to regulate sugar levels?

These are the questions I personally have for Professor Julian and her team of international scientists although Mr Silva was asking me a different question

My understand in this area is that these receptors responsive to changes in blood pressures and chemical changes such as carbon dioxide and pH in the blood (I am not sure about blood sugars) are not only found in the carotid region of the neck, but elsewhere in the blood vessels such as in the aortic arch near the heart.

Would this GLP-1 also excite these receptors elsewhere in the body or only specifically in the neck region as Prof Julian mentioned?

Secondly, baroreceptors are responsive only to changes to pressures, and I do not think a protein like GLP-1 can control blood pressure variations. In what way and its mechanisms?

Thirdly, my question for Professor Julian Paton and her international team of scientists is, though very probable these small molecule peptides can alter sugar levels, we need to know the biochemical pathways and mechanisms of their feedback.

In short, how do these peptides GLP-1 influence gene expression of the beta-cells of the Islets of Langerhans in the pancreas to secrete insulin, which of course control sugar levels? This is my question to her.

Fourthly, whether or not we use drugs or natural gene (protein) expressions like GLP-1 to control high blood pressure or glucose levels as our preferred therapeutic modality, we still need go back to square one that gene expression is very much influenced by external environment on phenotype (genetic behaviour), endocrine behaviour, diseases onset and outcome of diseases. We already knew this long ago.

As far as I know there could be as much as 30 million on and off genetic switches inside just 2 percent of the human genomes and these off and on switches control those genes encrypted within the remaining 98 percent of the genome. Hence the picture would be far more complicated

It is these external environmental factors that shall have the final say on those GLP-1 expression or those drugs we mentioned on arterial or endocrine events Julian and her teams were excited about.

Gene regulation can occur at any point during gene expression, although mainly at the level of transcription (when the information in a gene’s DNA is passed to mRNA). Signals from the environment internal and external or from other cells activate proteins called transcription factors.

These proteins bind to regulatory regions of a gene and increase or decrease the level of transcription.

By controlling the level of transcription, this process can determine when and how much protein such as GLP-1 probably is expressed (translated or made) by the gene, and hence the chance of disease emerging and their outcome

But this process depends much on the environment and our lifestyles especially nutrition

This discovery by Professor Julian and her team of international scientists make tremendous sense to me as it explains why lifestyles and dietary modifications are far better and more permanent solutions than using drugs to manage high blood pressure

By controlling the level of transcription, this process can determine when and how much protein such as GLP-1 probably is expressed (translated or made) by the gene, and hence the chance of disease emerging and their outcome

But this process depends much on the environment and our lifestyles especially nutrition

Hence, in my view in a nutshell since you have asked, it is still not wrong for doctors to prescribe those drugs in the past and even now because they use them based on previous discoveries by other scientists and what was offered to them by drug companies. But drugs do not cure the root causes causing the genes to express themselves differently

Doctors don't produce drugs. They were only given to them to use for patients. Doctors also would not know anything about natural GLP-1 expression if it is a safer and more effective modality over drugs.

This said, it is still strongly the modification of our diet and lifestyles and environmental influences on gene expression that has the final say on how these two conditions need to be managed.

In short, known as epigenetic factors, it is the internal and external environmental influences such as diet, stress, anger, meditation, relaxation, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, obesity, exercise and physical activities, free radical damages...etc  on the genes that will have an impact on how genes are going to express themselves such as GLP-1 and theses changes are reversible unlike genetic changes that changes the DNA sequence irreversibly.

Not surprisingly, the GLP-1 production may in turn have an impact on blood pressure and blood sugars level.

In other words, it is still the epigenetic dietary, environmental factors, the way we live that finally determine whether or not will be prone to getting hypertension and diabetes.

This means it would be far better to control these external and internal environmental influences on the genes for a true and permanent solution to these two conditions rather than to depend on drugs that serves as short term solution since the root causes were never addressed. Drugs temporary alter, inhibit or replace the continuous flow of a chemical pathology and need to be taken continuously daily to block their continuous flow, but they do not offer a permanent cure.

Changing the ways how our genes react would be the best practice in health and medicine. Preventive medicine is of course far better than curative medicine by understanding the root causes of diseases and how to address them instead of using drugs to mask and suppress to "control" the disorder.

Needless to say, it is not the drugs prescribed that are going to offer a permanent solution to hypertension and diabetes but it is our lifestyle, nutrition, internal and external environment that matters

All these while we know that bad lifestyles are the main cause of hypertension and diabetes, but we do have a proper explanation until now.

Hence, we depend mainly on drugs given by doctors to "cure" hypertension and diabetes until this discovery

My opinion is, this discovery by a team of international esteemed scientists led by Professor Julian Paton is an eye opener and make tremendous scientific sense to me

I hope I have enlightened and answered your question Mr. Silva.

We would like Professor Andrew who sent us this article to comment further with good explanatory details. He knows more than me

Over to you Professor Andrew

Regards,

Why Booster Doses of Vaccines is Unnecessary

Allow me to explain again in just a slightly greater detail, but in as simple a layman’s language as possible why booster doses of any vaccine, not just Covid vaccines are not necessary even if antibodies elicited after the first dose drop

First of all, I have already explained earlier in another chat, all proteins including the body’s own proteins from muscles, organs, including red blood corpuscles or RBC containing the haemoglobins as well as the plasma of the blood is degenerated and replaced after a certain lifespan in the body.  The human body is made up almost (80 %) entirely of proteins (besides water).

This includes enzymes and certain hormones produced by the endocrine glands (some hormones are made of steroids not proteins).

Hemoglobin for example is composed of four protein chains, two alpha chains and two beta chains, each with a ring-like heme group containing an iron atom. Oxygen binds reversibly to these iron atoms and is transported through blood. The lifespan of RBC containing the protein is only 120 days and is replaced by the proteins and iron in the food.

This replacement takes several metabolic steps (pathways) and may also involve DNA and RNA by which DNA is copied to RNA is called transcription, and RNA translates them into proteins (translation).

Unfortunately, these protein inclusive antibodies (immunoglobulins) do not remain long as with all other body’s proteins. As a result, the antibodies whether from the first dose, second, third or any multiple doses of any vaccines keep dropping after some days / weeks or months

The way most proteins are destroyed is by a process called oxidative deamination. This is the first step in breaking down the amino acids, including the antibodies made of (immune)globulins so that they can be converted to sugars. Globulins are proteins (amino acids).

Normally this process begins by removing the amino group of the amino acids. The amino group becomes ammonium as it is lost and later undergoes the urea cycle to become urea in the liver. It is then released into the bloodstream, where it is transferred to the kidneys, which will secrete the urea as urine.

The remaining portion of the amino acid becomes oxidized, into an alpha-keto acid. The alpha-keto acid will then proceed into the Hans Kreb’s cycle, in order to generate energy. The acid can also enter glycolysis, where it will be eventually converted into pyruvate. The pyruvate is then converted into acetyl-CoA so that it can enter the Kreb’s cycle and convert the original pyruvate molecules into ATP, or usable energy for the organism.

However, in the case of these antibodies they can be degenerated by intracellular proteases (protein-destroying enzymes in the cells).

Hence with these continuing series of degenerative pathways, the antibodies keep dropping whether with first, second, third or any multiple doses of the vaccines that are being injected

This becomes meaningless if we cannot maintain their titre levels, especially when we are not infected at all in between these unnecessary doses.

In fact, we make ourselves worse by unnecessarily challenging, insulting and injuring our immunological system into exhaustion with multiple doses of antigens from these vaccines until it can no longer produce the antibodies. See my explanation separately here:

 https://scientificlogic.blogspot.com/search?q=general+adaptation+syndrome+

What is far more important is not merely continuing to give booster doses where the body cannot retain the antibodies elicited, but we need to understand the body remembers for a very, very long time its first exposure whether to a live infection or via an attenuated virus through the first dose of the vaccine.

This the body does through its immunological memory where reinfection at any later time leads to a rapid increase in antibody production and effector T cell activity. These later infections become very mild or even unapparent as we can see with the Omicron variant of this Covid-19 virus compared to all the previous other variants.  This is probably due to the herd immunity in place after over 3 years of pandemic exposure.

Immunological memory follows after a primary immune response against the antigen. Immunological memory is thus generated after a previous initial exposure, to either a life infection or through just the first dose of the vaccine.

The result of a secondary immune response is similar to primary immune response through the body’s memory B and T cell.

These cells recognize the antigen presented through its peptide (spike or other infective proteins). After the primary immune response has disappeared, the effector cells of the immune response are eliminated. However, there remain the antibodies previously generated by the body that represent the humoral component of immunological memory (to produce more antibodies as needed), and it is this that comprises an important defensive mechanism in subsequent infections, and not by the vaccines, no matter how many multiple doses were given.

In adding to the formed antibodies in the body there remains a small number of memory T and B cells that make up the cellular component of the immunological memory.

These stay in blood circulation in a resting state and at the subsequent encounter with the same antigen or even the mutagenic antigen (virus) these cells are able to respond instantly and remove the antigen. Memory cells have a long life and last up to several decades in the body.

This explains why we get immunity to chickenpox, measles, and some other diseases for life.

However, immunity to some diseases may eventually wear off. The immune system's response to a few diseases, such as dengue, counterproductively makes the next infection worse (antibody-dependent enhancement).

As of 2019, researchers are still trying to investigate why some vaccines provide life-long immunity, while the effectiveness of other vaccines drops to zero in less than 30 years (example mumps) or less than six months (for H3N2 influenza).

However, I think the current Covid pandemic is slowly weakening after over 3 years of infectivity even as more and more variants are evolved whereby with each variant being created, our collective human immunity, variedly called herd immunity, societal immunity, combined immunity, shared immunity…etc began to weaken them. See my explanation here:

https://scientificlogic.blogspot.com/search?q=herd+immunity

I hope I have managed to explain in +lay’s man language why booster doses of vaccines is really not necessary if we can understand how our body is wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139: 13 – 14).

The Power of The Rain

The Power of The Rain in December, 2021 over Selangor

It has been raining, and raining all day and night towards the 2nd week of December, 2021 last year, and I was unable to sleep entire nights over the months due to a leg pain from a venous stasis ulcer. It has been like that for nearly 2 years now since the Covid pandemic

Continuous heavy rains have been falling over Malaysia due to the North-East Monsoon with flood water submerging several parts of this country last December.  Being unable to sleep, I thought I should write something wondering where all these rains and water came from?

In this country during the NE monsoon seasons most of the rain falls over the eastern part of Peninsular Malaysia.

Peninsular Malaysia contains numerous mountain ranges running parallel from north to south along the peninsula. The main mountain range dividing the east and west coast of Peninsular Malaysia is the Titiwangsa Mountains with Mount Tahan or Gunung Tahan being the highest point in Peninsular Malaysia with an elevation of 7,175 ft (2,187 m) above sea level. It is this main range of mountains that blocks the blunt of the north-east monsoon rains from crossing over to lash the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Most rain clouds are below 2,500 metres,  and the main range of mountains effectively act as a barrier for the monsoon rain clouds to cross over towards the west coast.

But in December of last year 2021 it was quite a different scenario. Heavy rains were experienced over the western part of Peninsular Malaysia.

The question I ask myself how do we actually measure the amounts of rainfall that fell, not just in term of inches or millilitres as is usually done with little understanding by most people, but in terms of actual volumes and mass over a certain area such as in the State of Selangor where I stay, and where did the power of the rains come from?

So, without much sleep in my life these days, I decided to deal with this question entirely in a different way rather than merely expressing precipitation or rainfall in inches or in millilitres.  Let’s have a look at what I have in mind, just to share with you.

The Measurement of Rain:

The most common rainfall measurement is the total rainfall depth during a given period and is expressed in millimeters (mm). For instance, we might want to know how many millimeters of rain fell over the course of 1 h, 1 day, 1 month, or 1 year. But what does this actually mean in terms of cubic metres or the mass of the water that fell?

This is done by using rain gauges to measure the precipitation in millimetres in height collected during a certain period.

The standard instrument for the measurement of rainfall is the 203mm (8 inch) rain gauge. This is essentially a circular funnel with a diameter of 203mm which is kept in an open area, so that it collects the rain into a graduated and calibrated cylinder. The measuring cylinder can record up to 25mm of precipitation but with an overflow for extra measurements

The precipitation value in mm refers to the amount of rain per square meter in one hour. This means that one millimeter of rainfall is equivalent of one liter of water per square meter.

Now, let us see where the rains come from?

Categories of Clouds:

There are ten main cloud types, which are further divided into 27 sub-types according to their height shape, colour and associated weather, Clouds are categorised as low as 2.5 km from the earth’s surface, to the middle (2.5 to 6 km), or high (above 6 km).

The major clouds are: Altocumulus, Altostratus, Cirrocumulus, Cirrostratus, Cirrus, Cumulonimbus, Cumulus, and the Nimbostratus.

Cumulonimbus clouds, sometimes called "thunderheads," are associated with thunderstorms, lightning and intense, heavy rains as well as hail. Cumulonimbus clouds grow vertically and commonly adopt an anvil shape, with a low, dark base often only 305 metres (1,000 feet) above ground and tops reaching up to 15,200 metres (50,000 feet) into the atmosphere.

Cumulonimbus clouds are the kings of all clouds, rising from low altitudes to more than 60,000 feet (20,000 meters) above ground level. They grow due to rising air currents called updrafts, with their tops flattening out into an anvil shape.

Using radiosonde observations, it was found that clouds during the SW monsoon season mainly concentrated below 2,500 m. A layer with relatively void clouds was present between 2500 and 4000 m. Meteorologists call this region a cloud-free zone. Probably this observation also applies to the NE monsoon

Types of Rains:

Let’s now look at the types of rain.

According to the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Ministry of Environment and Water, Malysia, rainfall intensity in an hour may be light (1-10 mm), moderate (11 – 30 mm), heavy (31- 60 mm). very heavy (>60 mm).

Convective rain more than 60 mm in 2 to 4 hours duration (typical) may cause flash floods. However, monsoon rains are typically of long duration with intermittent heavy bursts and the intensity can occasionally exceed several hundred mm in 24 hours. This was what was experienced in December last year.

According to the May 2020 Journal of Physics Conference Series: DOI:10.1088/1742-6596/1529/5/052014 the annual average rainfall in Peninsular Malaysia is 2,420 mm, 2,630 mm for Sabah, and 3,830 mm for Sarawak

However, there was a record rainfall in Selangor that passed the 380 mm mark in the State of Selangor towards Christmas last year (2021)

https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/2021/12/18/record-rainfall-in-selangor-passes-380mm-mark-state-government-moves-victim/2029482

Nevertheless, the report did not state the duration of the rainfall, the exact location or if the precipitation was uniform throughout the State of Selangor, Malaysia. We presume the data was collected randomly from several locations throughout Selangor and not just over a limited area in Selangor. We may presume the rain was wide-spread since where I stay in Gombak in Selangor we too experienced heavy rains as it was in Shah Alam, the capital of Selangor, over 30 km away. Parts of Shah Alam were inundated by severe floods down-stream from where I stay near the Gombak River that then joins another river toward that capital. All the water collected upstream flowed downstream to flood Shah Alam   Whatever it was, it was still the amount of rain that passed the 380 mm mark, probably over the entire State of Selangor.

Since precipitation in millimetres in height collected is equivalent to litres per square metre as already mentioned, and since the area of Selangor is 8,104 square km, we may presume whether or not the rain was uniformly distributed over the State, the total amount of rain water over Selangor during the period would be 380 mm x 8,104 x 1,000,000 sq. metre = 3.07952 x 10^12 litres (3,079,520,000 cubic metres). This is also the mass of rain water in kilogram since the density of water is one kilogram per cubic metre. That was a tremendous amount of water that flooded several parts of the State of Selangor up to the top of houses and buildings.

Quantities of Water:

Let us imagine if this amount of rainfall in Selangor alone were to be all drained into the various water catchment areas (dams and lakes) in the State, what would the filling capacity like?

For instance, the Sungai Tua Batu dam where I get my water supply, covers an area of 2.50 square km. a height of 44 meters, and a surrounding catchment width of 50 square km, has a maximum capacity of 36.6 million cubic metres, but a holding capacity of 30,199 million litres (30,199,000 cubic metres). This means the collective volumes of rainfall elsewhere in Selangor, if channelled into the holding capacity of this dam, would be able to fill it 102 times over in one sitting. That’s a tremendous amount of water from this rainfall in Selangor alone that caused severe floods up to houses and buildings in several areas

There are 7 major dams in Selangor that supplies water to the entire Klang Valley including Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Putra Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Pedalling Jaya, Klang and elsewhere. These 7 dams are the Sg. Selangor Dam, Sg. Tinggi Dam, Tasik Subang Dam, Klang Gate Dam, Semenyih Dam, Sg. Langat Dam & Kelau Dam

For instance, the Klang Gates Dam in Ulu Klang, Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia is one of the major sources of drinking water for residents of the Klang Valley, where the national capital, Kuala Lumpur, is located. The dam capacity is 25,104 million liters (25,104,000 cubic metres).

According to statistics from the Selangor Water Management Authority (Luas) website, the Langat Dam recorded a capacity of 69.37 per cent or 23.65 million cubic litres, while the Sungai Selangor Dam was at 78.17 per cent (179.8 million cubic litres). That was the record on 1 Apr 2016

This also means if the rainfall over Selangor in the days just before Christmas were to be completely challenged into the Sungai Selangor Dam or the Langat Dam, two of the biggest dams in the State of Selangor, it would be able to fill the huge lake and dam of Sungai (River) Selangor up to 17,130 times and 130,200 times   for the Langat Dam respectively. That was the amount of water that fell out of the sky over Selangor alone, let alone throughout East and West Malaysia and elsewhere across vast stretches of the South China Sea from where the NE monsoon blows across

The rainfall over Selangor was so massive that it inundated several areas with flood waters covering several housing estates in Selangor alone, not counting the tragedy experienced in several States in Malaysia. I am lucky to stay in a place in Gombak where the only place that was flooded were the drains outside my house.

In a study on the conditional probability structure and statistical dependence, the amount of rainfall depends on several gauging stations located around Peninsular Malaysia, namely Subang, Senai and Kota Bharu. Daily rainfall measurements for all stations were collected from the Department of Meteorology, Malaysia are long and reliable, with at least 40 years of data. The average annual rainfall estimated for Kota Bharu, Subang and Senai are 2,627 ± 574 mm, 2581 ± 399 mm and 2499 ± 340 mm, respectively.

The Power Behind:

Our next question is, where did the power that drives the rain, not even accounting the strong winds that normally accompany the rains come from? Obviously, it must come from the ocean waters of the South China Sea during the NE monsoon that lifted the water up as rain clouds by the energy of the Sun

The energy required to evaporate the ocean waters by the Sun into rain clouds 2,500 metres up into the air as potential energy is equivalent to the kinetic energy or the power of the rain that fell.

This means the potential energy given by mass (m) x acceleration of gravity (g) x the presumed height of rain clouds for the area of Selangor then was:

 3.08 x 10^12 kg of rain clouds x 9.8 m per second per second x 2,500 m in altitude = 7.5 x 10^16 (75,000 trillion) Joules.

This mean that the Sun spent 1.9 x 10^ - 8 % (0.000,000,019 %) of its energy output per second to lift up the ocean waters and blowing them across the South China Sea in the NE Monsoon and dropping them off the State of Selangor alone just before Christmas last year (2021), not counting the entire Malaysia and vast stretches of other land masses and the South China Sea where heavy rains also fell during this NE Monsoon. We shall go into the calculation for this energy expenditure shortly.

The amount of energy we receive from the Sun is measured by the solar constant

The solar constant embraces all types of solar radiation, not just the visible light. It is measured by satellite to be roughly 1.366 kilowatts per square meter (kW/m²).1 Watt = 1 Joule per second (1W = 1 J/s) which means that 1 kW = 1000 J/s. A Watt is the amount of energy in Joules per second

The direct solar irradiance at the top of the atmosphere fluctuates by about 6.9% during a year.   This variation is between 1.412 kW/m² in early January to 1.321 kW/m² in early July due to the Earth's varying distance from the Sun. The total amount of energy the Earth receives from the Sun is about 1.740×1017 W, plus or minus 3.5%.

This is measured by the solar constant that varies over long periods of time, but it is approximately 1.366 kW/m². This is equivalent to 1.96 calories per minute per square centimeter,

If we use this average of 1.366 kW/m², without going into complicated astrophysics or nuclear physics, it is possible for us to calculate approximately how much energy is generated by the Sun by determining the total amount of energy radiated over the surface area of the sphere described by the average distance of the Sun to Earth which is about 1.5 x e11 metres (150 million kilometres), assuming there is no loss of energy on the way from the Sun to this sphere

This works out to be A = 4 Ï€ r^2 x 1.366 kilowatts / m² = 3.86 x 10^23 kilowatts (3.86 x 10^26 watts), or 3.86 x 10^26 Joules per second, where r is the Sun-Earth distance at 1.5 x e11 metres (150 billion metres).

More accurately using more advanced methods and advanced calculations done by scientists in nuclear physics and astrophysics whose calculations is beyond me as I am not an astrophysicist or a solar nuclear physicist, this works out to be 3.846×1026 watts or 384.6 septillion watts which is not bad using our simple method in the physics of radiation against far more advanced methods done by astrophysicists. The Sun energy output per second is equivalent to about 9.192×1010 megatons of TNT

The Sun produces this energy by fusing its core of about 600 million tons of hydrogen into helium every second, converting 4.26 million metric tons of matter into energy every second as a result.

Thus, we can see the power of the rains, storms, monsoons, hurricanes, typhoons, the floods everywhere, whatever they are, must come entirely from the Sun. without which nothing moves on this Planet Earth

This Earth is ravaged by violent forces of Nature everywhere, not just in Malaysia, let alone Selangor that experienced heavy rains and floods. It was given just as an example the energy of rains over Selangor only

Thank You for reading just to share.

The above calculations were based on the following equivalents:

cubic metre = 1000 litres

1 cubic meter of pure water = 1000 kg

1 sq. km = 1,000,000 square metres

1 meter = 1,000 mm

1 square metre = 1,000,000 square millimetre

1 litre = 1,000,000 cubic millilitres

1 mm of rain = 1 litre of rain per square meter

1 kilowatt = 1,000 watts = 1,000 Joules per second

A Poisonous "Star" called Wormwood

I would appreciate your favourably comment on this, together with any other information or inputs and ideas you may have. Thank you, a million Professor AI,

The author (I) uses his combined knowledge drawn from multidisciplinary Sciences in Astronomy, Geography, Oceanography, Toxicology, Physiology and Medicine, Mathematics in his attempt to try to answer what this star “Wormwood” revealed in the Bible is.

A very brief summary on the basic info he knows from these disciplines in sciences and then calculated out to expand on them are spelt out as follows:

  1. Earth has a total of 1.39 X 109 cubic km of waters
  2. 96.5 % are in global oceans = 1.34 X 109 cubic km

A Biblical Revelation:

“And the third angel sounded, and there fell, a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers and upon the fountains of waters.

And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter” (Revelation 8: 10 -11)

A Holistic Scientific Analysis:

A search of the scientific literature did not yield much information about the mystery star called “Wormwood” described in the Bible (Revelation 8:10 -11). Neither was there useful and relevant information that could be sourced from the Internet. This ‘star’ thus remains much of a mystery to the scientific world as it is an event that has yet to come to pass.  An analysis of information pieced together by the author from several disciples of science and medicine may reveal a probable explanation to this mystery.

No single field or key of science, whether it be astronomy, Christian science, physics, chemistry, cosmology, mathematics or even space medicine can open up this mystery about this Wormwood Star. It requires the concerted and integrated efforts from all fields of knowledge including geography to disseminate the mystery. No wonder not even the massive information stored in the Internet provides a satisfactory explanation. Hence all the statements described below need to be referred to the compilation of analytical data set out in the above Table to support the statements.

An analysis of our current knowledge in astronomy tells us that the Wormwood star is probably a typical comet yet to arrive, but it will be one that is going to crash into Earth. We know from our knowledge in geography that three-quarter of the Earth’s surface is covered by water – the oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. Earth has a total of 1.39 X 109 cubic km of waters.  About 96.5 % of the waters are in the oceans.

This means there are 1.34 X 1018   cubic metres or 1.34 X 1021 litres of water in all the oceans of the world. .The Bible tells us that the star will fall into a third of the waters. That implies that a third of the global oceans will contain 4.47 X 1020 litres of water.

The Bible also describes ‘a great star from heaven’ that fell down (to Earth). Can this be possible? We know from our knowledge in astronomy that this is not possible, given the fact that an average star in heaven is about the same size as our own Sun. The radius of Earth is 6,378 km, and its volume is 1.087 X 1012 cubic km. The Sun, technically a star, has a radius of 695,000 km, and hence a volume of 1.406 X 1018 cubic km.

The Sun / Earth volume ratio is thus 1,293,468. In other words, 1.3 million Earths can drop into the Sun to be equivalent to its size.  Hence there is no possibility for the Sun or any star to drop into Earth. The reverse is true. This far, for ‘mathematical geography’ of the story to link up. So, we need to look for another explanation.

Let’s now turn to astronomy. In ancient times anything that ‘burns like a lamp’ in the sky are all called stars. That includes a comet. The presence of a comet since ancient times has also been a suspect of a disaster. It is to the ancient civilization the presence of a comet in the sky is a harbinger of bad omen. They bring disease and death to Earth.  So how does a comet make the waters bitter, and cause death to many men.

Let us assume it is an average size comet. An average size comet is some 5 km (500 metres) in diameter. Its volume is thus 6.55 X 1010 cubic metres. The density of an average-size comet is 3,000 kg / m3. Hence its average weight is 1.965 X 1014 kg. Now a number of studies on the chemical composition of a comet have already been done. One such study is Hale-Bopp Comet. It was found to contain chemical compounds that include methane, acetylene, hydrogen cyanide, methyl cyanide, hydrogen sulphides, formic acid, ethylene, and carbonyl sulphides.

It was estimated that about 10 % of the chemical compounds in a typical comet could be hydrogen cyanide or cyanide compounds. If that is true, the amount of cyanides in a typical comet at 10 % would have a weight of 1.965 X 1013 kg or 1.965 X 1019 mg.

Let's see what happens if an average-size comet were to drop into our oceans.  We already calculated that 1/3 of the oceans contain 4.47 X 1020 litres of water. That means that if an average comet 5 km (5,000 metres) wide were to fall into one of the 3 major oceans – Pacific, Atlantic or Indian oceans, it will contaminate its waters at a dilution of 0.04 mg / decilitre.

Let us now examine the consequences from the viewpoint of physiology and toxicology. In physiology we know that the fluid intake of an average human adult is about 2.5 litres a day to replace a minimum obligatory urine output and loss of about 800 ml a day. Hence the amount of cyanide ingested through water intake at 2.5 litres a day is a mere 0.1 mg. This, in toxicology, is not immediately fatal, although it could act as an accumulative poison. So, a human drinking from that water will not die instantly. What’s more, no humans drink the salt water from the oceans. So, this explanation doesn’t seem very satisfactory.

Let’s look at Revelation once again and read carefully what it says there. In Revelation Chapter 8, verses 10 – 11 it did not speak about the oceans. It says: “a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers and upon the fountains of waters”

So, it is the rivers, and not the ocean that the ‘star’ fell into. But how could a 5 km diameter comet fall into a river? I do not think there is a river wide enough to accommodate an average comet. We know from our current knowledge that comets are of different sizes, and weight. They can be small, as small as only a tenth the size of an average one.

If we assume just a small comet, as small as only 500 metres (0.5 km) in diameter drops into one of the rivers (fountain of all waters), what will the scenario be like? To answer that, let us return to geography once again. It has been documented that Earth has 263 international river basins and major rivers, covering 45.3 % or 231.059,898 km2 of the land surface area (not the ocean area).

There is an estimated 2115 cubic km of fresh river waters in all the rivers of the world (Groombridge & Jenkins, 1998). There are 3 major rivers with the highest volume of water discharge a year. These are:  the Amazon (6.92 cubic km of water per year), Ganges (1.38 km3 /year), and the Congo (1.30 km3 /year). Other rivers are merely very long, like the Yangtze, Nile, and Mississippi, but they do not mean they have the highest volume of water discharge.  The total volume of all the rivers is 2.115 X 1012 cubic metres or 2.115 X 1015 litres. A third of the total volume would be 7.05 X 1014 litres.

Since neither the Amazon or the Mighty Yangtze River can  accommodate a 5 km wide comet if it should  falls into them,  a 0.5 km will easily fit into any of the 3  major  rivers. A 500 metres diameter comet with an average density of 3,000 kg / m3 weighs about

1.965 X 1011 kg. At 10 % content, a small comet will contain 1.965 X 1010 kg or 1.965 X 1016 mg of cyanide. In other words, if this was to fall into a third of the ‘fountains of waters’ the cyanide levels in the fresh drinkable waters of the rivers will be in the order of 27.9 mg / dl (litres). This is immediately a fatal dose, and many men will die drinking that water because it was made bitter.

Very Brief Chemical, Physiological, Toxicological and Medical Summary of Cyanide Poisoning:

Let me now move you from geography, astronomy, chemistry, to the medical aspects of cyanide poisoning. How does it work? Let us just describe it briefly: Please bear with me as we need to shift from one branch of science to another.

  • Chemistry of cyanide:

Hydrogen cyanide / prussic acid: extremely bitter. Taste like bitter almonds, extremely toxic and highly soluble in water

  • Toxicity:

Lethal concentration of gaseous hydrogen cyanide (HCN) in humans is between 100 – 500 ppm (parts per million) within a few minutes due to respiratory failure.  Lethal oral dose of cyanide compounds in solutions, say in water, is between 0.5 – 3.0 mg / kg of body weight. The lethal dose for an average 60 kg (150 lbs) reference man at 0.5 mg / kg body weight = 30 mg in a single dose

  • Mode of Action:

It binds with a number of body enzymes. Primarily, its action is by inhibiting the cytochrome c oxidase, mainly by binding the ferric ion of the cytochrome.  This interferes with tissue oxidative phosphorylation as it blocks the electron transfer in the energy-rich phosphate ATP / ADP biochemistry. To make this simple, short and sweet to understand, death is due to respiratory inhibition, mainly oxygen deprivation to the tissues, but more importantly to the brain.

  • Fluid Loss:

Obligatory fluid loss in urine per day in an adult human = 830 dl (830 ml.)

·         Fluid Intake:

Average fluid (water) intake of an average man = 2,500 dl (2.5 litres), depending   on humidity, temperature, physiological needs, exercise, lungs and skin output, gastrointestinal, kidney output, osmol (salt) load, medical conditions, etc. About 2.5 litres a day is about right and about the average intake for a reference man.

  • Signs & Symptoms:

Cyanide acts rapidly on the tissues, respiratory and nervous systems. In high concentration, there is a dramatic increase in the rate and depth of respiration. This compensatory response mechanism against tissue respiratory failure is so powerful that it overrides the casualty’s normal ability to hold his breath. Fierce convulsions set in within 20-30 seconds with cessation of respiration within a minute. Cardiac failure sets in within a minute or two.

In lower concentrations, HCN acts on the CNS (Central Nervous System) leading to serial neurological events such as motor weakness of the lower extremities (legs), vertigo (giddiness), nausea and headache, loss of neuro-motor coordination and unsteady gait.

The reflexes are altered, and there may be convulsions followed by coma. These signs and symptoms very much depend on the concentration of the cyanide ingested, body weight, and body constitution. In high doses above 0.5 mg / body weight, death is the ultimate sequel.

 Conclusion:

From the chemical and medical summary above, we know that cyanide is an extremely bitter substance. It tastes like bitter almonds.

Doesn’t this fit the description that the star is called ‘Wormwood’ because the waters were made bitter? Doesn’t that fit the picture of a bitter star that fell onto Earth?  When it does fall into the rivers, does all these calculations presented here tell us exactly how much it needs to pollute the total volumes of a third of the rivers in such an exact dilution  that  “many men died of the  waters, because they were made bitter” (Revelation 8: 11).

Doesn’t our knowledge in physiology and nutrition tell us that we cannot but are forced to drink a minimum quantity of water to replace an obligatory loss of 800 ml of water daily, whether or not we like it. Invariably many men are going to die from this.

As the author pointed out, most scientists or doctors specialize only in one field of science or medicine. With that myopic, cross-eyed and un-holistic view they will never see the sights that came down from heaven as in my separate story about the SARS Virus as An Alien from Outer Space.
